Bathed in light.
Alfama is Lisbon as it flows from the hill of Castle to meet its destiny at the River and the Sea. It is this pull of the Sea that gave rise to one of the oldest and most picturesque quarters of Portugal's capital city.
It was the Moors who gave Alfama its name, meaning “thermal spring”. The excellent properties of its waters and the hot springs near the banks of the Tagus river were renowned before the city was founded and
their abundance has persisted as a defining feature of the neighbourhood over the centuries.
Apartments
The apartments were conceived as contemporary versions of Pombaline functionalism. Flowing spaces with high ceilings and an absence of corridors make simplicity a virtue.
Light always plays the starring role and becomes sculptured as it floods through high balcony windows, mansard windows and skylights etched into typical Pombaline window recesses.

Finishings
Classic elegance to contemporary standards and first-class materials.
The spaces are ingeniously used to the maximum, with numerous comfortable and elegant arrangements, from panelling to open niches in the wall.
Arches and folding glazed doors distinguish and integrate well-lit environments, where pelmets embedded in false ceilings of curved borders enliven the play of light through the windows.
Each movement is studied,
each point of light is a guide.
